It's been a slow Saturday for us and I thought it would
be fun to give you a glimpse into the the pace of an
average weekend day here in San Sebastian. Sundays
in Spain are dedicated to rest and relaxation, all stores are
closed for business, though here the cafes are open and you'll see
plenty of people on the streets and along the beach promenade...
So, if there is something you might need to
get done or bring home before Monday rolls
around--well, Saturday's your day.
An average Saturday about the city will
almost always include a trip to the farmer's
market, where vendors fill countless booths with
just about any local delicacy you can think of:
Veggies and fruit...
And of course, my particular weakness...
Apart from a visit to the market, we usually
spend the early afternoon walking around the city center
taking in our beloved San Sebastian.
Today we stopped in at one of our favorite bars
for some Patatas Bravas and calamares...
And since we had a chocoholic friend along with us,
we watched him devour anything and everything
that would placate his sweet tooth...
I am just now realizing that this post would appear
to be dedicated entirely to the subject of food!
But rest assured, our days are spent exploring
the city on foot and most of the time we just treat
our eyes to all of the yumminess--our tummies aren't
quite so lucky! Well most of the time, anyway
See you tomorrow for Day 4
and thanks for stopping in!
