Simplemente Sevilla

A few weeks ago, The Reading Guy and I headed
SOUTH on a long anticipated trip to Andalucia!
SOUTH on a long anticipated trip to Andalucia!
While the visit was for all purposes the "express" version
of what this incredible region of Spain merits, we were just
thrilled to be exploring the likes of Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada...

Our first stop was SEVILLA!
With its beautiful gardens and historic cathedral,
The Reading Guy and I were left longing for more time in
this positively bustling and beautiful city...
But our quick visit was nothing short of unforgettable...
We rented a car for our Andalusian adventure,
which as it turns out is TOTALLY the way to go!
Luckily we weren't even rusty
after 6 months of absolutely NO driving...
We quickly realized that Seville is home to some of the bravest
and most agile motorcycle riders we have encountered...
And we may have had a little trouble
making sense of some of the traffic signs...
making sense of some of the traffic signs...
But with our trusty map in hand (no GPS?!) and the kindness of
a few locals who happily helped these tourists...
We managed to make our way around Sevilla
and all of its gorgeousness with ease...
We were welcomed to the city with warm temperatures, too!
Like the kind of warm temperatures we have managed
to avoid by moving away from South Texas and
to the glorious weather of San Sebastian...
But we were in Andalucia and therefore LOVING every bit of it!
We downed a few "raspados" to keep cool and went on our merry way...
There was so much to see and Sevilla offers
its visitors a refreshingly relaxed approach to touring...
Sidewalk cafes offer a constant relief from the strong sun...
And there seem to be charming reminders of
Andalucia's Moorish heritage around every corner...

A visit to Sevilla just wouldn't have been complete without a
stop at its most prominent landmark, La Catedral de Sevilla...
The blooming trees, the cathedral and your smiles tell me the story.......WOW, again! MJE
