I was thoroughly excited about a visit to the city's notoriously
varied and sprawling antique markets (what's new, right?).

There are churches and cathedrals to spare in Bordeaux,
and they are each stunning in their own right...
Equally imposing as they are aging, you can't help but admire their graces...
We lunched at an outdoor plaza cafe neighboring the impressive
CATHEDRAL SAINT ANDRE...
And while I don't have pictures to share of me stuffing my face with
PASTA AUX QUATRE FROMAGES,
I thought you might prefer to see the view from our table...
There was something innately serene about Bordeaux...
Maybe it was the ease with which we, strangers to the city,
were able to make ourselves feel at home...
Or the sense of escape we enjoyed as we made
our way down unknown tree-lined paths...
Or maybe it was all the angels...
And the saints we came across...
There's no doubt that this Reading Girl had the easy task
of capturing just some of Bordeaux's best to share with you all...
I will be back soon with some of my favorites from the Bordeaux brocantes...
I even brought home a little souvenir
(hint: it isn't an antique tufted French bed)!
