Looking Up To You
/ in
Looking up at you I saw,
Little beyond your long sun-kissed hair,
And a smile bright enough to awe.
Slightly grown and unwittingly
Wisdom, discipline, a lifetime of lessons,
A determination unbridled, unfenced.
As a young woman and much matured,
Looking at you I began to see,
Your strength, courage, humility, and grace,
All one might ever hope to be.
Today a wife and some day a mother,
Looking to you I recognize,
It is in the simplest acts of love,
That we make the most of life.
As the years so swiftly pass us by,
Leaving traces cherished and true,
It seems to me that you will always be
The woman I look up to.
Happy Mother's Day, MOM!
Forever in your debt,
